Soil Study

Agriculture- We had a special treat today!  The class has been learning about our environment, and today, they zeroed in on soil, rock, and weathering.  Our guest speaker, Mr. Brian, taught about different types of weathering.  They learned about different types of chemical and mechanical weathering.  Mr.
Brian took them all outside for some experiments and examples of weather and erosion.  They will be back at it next week for more fun!

Spanish-  In Spanish class, Ms. Cindy reviewed material through song, discussion, and play!  They played a game of charades using Spanish names for animals.  They read a story, played a game of Spanish BINGO, and generally had a GREAT time while learning!

During lunch, the kids listened to their friend explain how to make origami!  They were fascinated that you can not only fold paper to make different things, but that they can actually move!  If anyone has something to share with their friends, we can have a lunch-n-share.  Just send me a message and I will work it in!

Art - Ms. Nancy helped the class finish up their caveman projects today.  They combined the texture project, (crayons and then a sand mixture) with their cave-people... and the results were great!  Next, the kids will be working on a project that involves Egyptian history.  They talked about hieroglyphics today, and used examples to create their own writings.  The class will be studying up on Egyptian terminology for next week's class!

Social Studies-  The class learned how Hitler gained control of Germany, and learned about his beliefs and rule.  They learned about the promises that Hitler made to the people of Germany, as well.  Mr. Dennis emphasized the importance of vocabulary comprehension!  If there is ever a word that they do not know, they will need to look it up and write it down!  They followed up today's lesson with a crossword puzzle review.
