A Multi-Subject 3-Ring Binder can be used, or smaller, separate 3-Ring Binders for each subject.

3rd/4th Grade for 2012-2013

• Grammar / Language Arts - First Language Lessons 4

• First Language Lesson 4 Workbook (parents guide not required)

• Math
  • Singapore Math 3A & 3B OR 4A & 4B (Both classes offered)

• The curriculum will be used as a spine. Enrichment activities (including enrichment for those advanced in math) and hands on learning will take place during class time, as well as additional resources sent home, as needed.
• We will have two instructors as to meet the needs of varying levels and learning styles.

• Handwriting
  • A Reason For Handwriting
  • If your child already writes in cursive, choose book "C", if not, choose book "T".

• Writing
  • Notebook, paper, and a big imagination! We are pulling from multiple curriculum to meet and exceed GA Standards for 4th grade. This class will strive to foster a love for learning and improve upon each students' individual writing.

• Social Studies / History (U.S. History, Civil War to Present for 1st semester)

• Houghton Mifflin Social Studies: United States History: Civil War to Today Text
• 3 Ring Binder
• Links and Online Activities provided, as well as worksheets.

• Reading/Literature

• Book list will by compiled and first book will be in the fiction genre: Bridge to Terabithia.
  . We will be compiling packets for vocabulary, themes, activities, and discuss the Christian allegory.

• Spanish
  • We will be placing an order for Spanish workbooks from The Learning Station in Fayetteville.  (Books are around $10-$14.)

• Art
  • Supply List TBA
  • Supply fee - $40

• Science- Real Science 4 Kids
  • Level 1 Chemistry for 1st semester, Level 1 Biology 2nd.
    • Text and Lab Book for Each Semester
  • Weekly discussion, review, & experiment/project that emphasizes the week's science material.
  • Online enrichment will be provided on "Homework Hideout" (videos, songs, websites, etc)
  • Supply Fee - $40

• Spelling
  • I will be compiling weekly spelling/vocabulary lists that incorporate current topics in each subject.
  • No text necessary.

• Suzuki Piano (optional)
  • Book, CD, and videos are included

• Drama (optional)
  • No text needed
